Save on Your Dental Assistant Training Now with our School’s Financial Aid

We founded WSMDA because we believe in the career-altering possibility of continuing education. We recognize that some students may require assistance paying for their certificate. We therefore help in identifying grant and scholarship programs or other financing options. Our Financial Aid Office provides information regarding FAFSA. We do not have work study opportunities. Our externships, including those in dental offices or other medical facilities, are part of the course work required for graduation.

Financial aid is available at WSMDA for our medical assistant and dental assistant training programs to those that qualify. Our Financial Aid Advisers work with each prospective student personally to determine their financial aid eligibility. Financial aid questions are answered clearly; financial aid options are explained thoroughly so prospective students can move forward without delay.

Financial aid packages may include Pell Grants, Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans, or Parent Loans. The School offers tuition payment plans as well as private and state grants. WSMDA works with TFC Financial management for payment plan options.  We get many questions regarding both private and State grants, including student loans, Federal Pell Grant and Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant. Dental assistant scholarships may be available through the WIA (workforce investment board) and ACCES-VR (adult career and continuing education services – vocational rehabilitation). We try to keep apprised of scholarships to students to help lower the cost to attend.

Makeup work is possible without additional fees, subject to time limitations. Exams can be repeated once, with the lowest grade dropped without extra charges.

There are other guidelines regarding student conduct and leave of absence that may impact financial aid and allowable refunds. Please read our PDF further detailing the matter.

Please call our dental assistant school at 914-682-9001 for further financial aid information or to take a look at our school catalog.

To determine financial aid eligibility for our dental assistant school, a prospective student must be able to provide the Financial Aid Adviser with the following:

  1.   Proof of citizenship or US Permanent Resident Status
  2.   Proof of income from the previous Tax Filing Year. This may be a Federal Tax Return, Social Security Award Letter, HRA Benefit Letter or other.
