A major part of being an exceptional dental assistant is to have the right tools to perform. In the field of healthcare, it is impossible to know everything since techniques change over time. Yet without the basics, it is very difficult to build those basic skills.
The Westchester School for Dental Assisting provides you the basic knowledge and skills to perform at a dental practice. I have trained interns at my practice and after their internship they are secured with jobs in the real world. Some interns were even able to secure jobs before completing their internship because they are motivated to learn quickly.
Since the Dental Assisting School has been able to produce exceptional students, I will continue to accept interns at my practice. Mr. Rodriguez and his staff provide the right tools and it is up to the student to decide whether or not they want to be exceptional clinical assistants.

DDSThanks to the Westchester School for Dental and Medical Assistants, I am a proud working Certified Medical Assistant. I remember before student life being confused as to what direction to go in career-wise. I remember thinking to myself, “Is this the right choice for me?” Walking into the School for the first time, Mr. Rodriguez was very welcoming and informative. After signing up, the months flew by and with some hard work and perseverance I had graduated. The School was able to help find me an internship to where I was hired in a permanent position. Once gaining some clinical experience from an Internal Medicine Practice, I went on the pass the NHA (National Health Association) and became a Nationally Certified Medical Assistant. Not only do I have a job and a degree, but I also met a lot of people from my class that I am still in touch with today and whom I can consider as lifelong friends. Thank you, Mr. Rodriguez and all the staff. I will forever be grateful for the education, experience, and life changing opportunity.

Katy is now in charge of opening the Dental Department daily and prepping the operatories for patient care. Katy continues to be a valued asset to the Open Door Dental Department.

DDSThe Westchester School for Dental Assistants has changed my life completely. Since day one everybody there is willing to help you the staff, the instructors, and my fellow students. They prepare you so much by the time you ready to go into the field you feel confident. We do clinical every day and practice on each other. Unlike other schools they use mannequins. The school has also helped me to find a job and I am very thankful for that. I will never regret attending to this school it changed my life in a good way.

CMAJacqueline Lawrence recently completed her medical assistant clinical rotation with the Greenburgh Health Center (from Feb. 26, 2009 through April 17, 2009). As with most students, they start in the department of Internal Medicine, then quickly go through the various other departments i.e.: Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Laboratory, etc.
Jacqueline (Jackie) demonstrated confidence and extreme competence in skills already taught and an eagerness to learn new ones. She is smart and a quick learner, she easily adapts to new skills, situations, and routines faster than any other student. She is always respectful to all staff members and patients, professional in dress and manner, always punctual and reliable; never missing a shift or opportunity to learn something new or help out wherever needed. Her smile, humor, friendly and outgoing personality is simply contagious with both staff and patients, and it’s obvious it would continue to do so wherever she is.
Unfortunately students do not spend much time in any one department, yet her flexibility and ability to shift gear; and adapt to each department was unlike most others. As she took on other responsibilities and new clinical skills, she quickly breezed through the other departments; all who give nothing but the same positive feedback.
It has been my great pleasure to have (hopefully been one who) added to her skills and knowledge, and been truly delighted to have worked with her. Jacqueline Lawrence is and will be nothing but an asset to any medical situation that acquires her; truly no Year (or so) prior experience needed – she is more than qualified to start anywhere today.

Licensed Practical Nurse Internal MedicineIt has been a pleasure working with the students trained from Westchester School for Dental Assistants. Students are very well trained with good theoretical knowledge. They are well behaved and very professional.
Best part is that they are good in their Phlebotomy skills, since they get training on a live person. They always go out of their way to help.
Patients like them also. They are hard working and conscientious. They can perform office duties in a challenging environment.
I am very pleased with these students’ training and highly recommend The Westchester School for Dental Assistants.

DDSI attended The Westchester School for Dental Assistants fall of 2013. The Westchester School for Dental Assistants prepares you for a real career in healthcare that is full of longevity. The learning experience is unique because the staff is courteous and very professional. Everyone here is family and no one lets you give up. It is a rigorous curriculum but it is well worth it in the end. Overall, this is the place to be for great career training and you will go out in the world with a sense of responsibility to others; those who need your help, in their time of need.

CMAThe Westchester School for Dental Assisting is absolutely wonderful to work with. The students that I have met are eager to start learning everything about dental assisting from the first time they start their externships.
Michele has sent our office great interns some of which we actually have hired. I think by taking their assistant program and completing externship in private office settings, one can really get a wonderful start in the field of dentistry.
